Despite opting for a field tested and approved firmware version on our new Juniper router we seem to be encountering small pockets of packet loss for no identifiable reason (no patterns in traffic usage, no spikes, no port errors at either end).
As we have been unsuccessful in resolving the issue ourselves we escalated the matter to our vendor who have suggested ditching the field tested and recommended firmware with the latest release and as such we have arranged the following window:
Date: Tuesday 31st Jan 2012 (today!)
Time: 23:00 GMT
Impact: 10-15min service outage
Affected: All clients, all services
Please accept our sincere apologies for the very short notice but as this issue seems to be causing a fair amount of annoyance we felt it better to get this window arranged sooner rather than later.
As with all our windows, we will send a follow up afterwards to conclude how things went.
