Voice Servers - London Server Migration - November 12th‏

Dear Client,

We are planning to migrate the London server to a new data center with the hope that it will help stabilize the service in that location. The move is going to happen on November 12th at 6am GMT.

For this migration, we will be migrating to a new IP address.  The new IP address for the London server will be: 91.204.208.220

1) If you're using a custom hostname such as [voice.yourdomain.com], you will need to update your DNS records to the new IP addresses after the migration. We will forward the OLD server to the new server via IP forwarding as well so users pointing to the old ip address will still function, so you don't have to do it exactly at the scheduled time.  We recommend you prepare for the migration by shortening the TTL setting on your affected DNS records to help the change take affect sooner once you change the IP address.

2) If you give your users the actual IP address, you will need to notify them of the upcoming change including new IP address and scheduled time. We always recommend you use a custom hostname in order to seamlessly make changes via DNS when needed.

We expect the servers to be offline for no longer then a few minutes at max during the migration process.

Again we always recommend using the hostname to connect to your server instead of the IP address.

We understand that DNS changes take time to propagate and to communicate with your users if needed, we will be setting up IP forwarding on the original servers to point to the newly migrated servers to prevent downtime for a couple days after the migration occurs to give users time to change. This means that if a customer connects to the old IP address it will connect them to the new server instead of giving them connection errors. This is a temporarily measure only but will make sure the transition is smooth.

Please make all changes as soon as possible after the migration as any packet-loss or outages on the old server will affect the forwarding to the new server and will affect your customers quality of service if you have not switched over.

If you have any questions or concerns, please open a support ticket.

Thank you
